They say you should never go grocery shopping when you’re hungry. Why? Because hunger clouds judgment. It makes everything look appealing, even the things you don’t need.
The same goes for life. Never make important decisions when you’re desperate. Desperation distorts clarity. It makes you settle for less, chase things that aren’t right for you, or cling to people who were never meant to stay. In the moment, it feels urgent, like something has to happen now. But urgency born from fear rarely leads to the kind of life you truly want to build.
When you’re desperate, you’re not always choosing from a grounded place. You’re reacting from a space clouded by fear, fatigue, pressure, or uncertainty. Decisions made in that state often overlook what’s best for you in the long run. They may bring short-term relief but sometimes lead to consequences that don’t align with who you truly are or what you genuinely need.
Clarity doesn’t always come in the midst of chaos. It comes in the stillness that follows. Give yourself the grace to pause, to gather your thoughts, and to reconnect with your values before making a decision. When you choose from a place of peace, rather than rush or uncertainty, your path begins to shift. The people, the opportunities, and the life you attract start to align more with your true self.
You don’t have to rush. It’s okay not to have it all figured out today. Take the time you need, so your choices reflect your strength, not your struggle. Let your decisions be made by the version of you who knows their worth, not the one simply trying to survive the moment.
